How to define if collaborators can edit, comment or suggest on the documents created from a template?

Updated this week

With a template containing a formatted and configured document, including custom fields, you can define the editing rights of contributors for documents created from this template.

The different levels of document editing rights

  • Direct Editing: Changes are applied directly without visible tracking.

  • Suggestion Mode: Changes are proposed as suggestions that can be accepted or rejected.

  • Commenting: Users can only comment on the document without making direct modifications.

These rights apply to users with the role of CONTRIBUTOR.

Choose which right to grant

Open the template for which you want to set the rights (from the "Templates" tab of the main menu on the left).

  • Then go to the "Participants" tab of the template.

  • In the "Document edition rights" part (at the bottom), you can choose the rights of the contributors on the document.

What is the impact on the documents created?
