Block the creation of blank projects
Updated over 4 months ago

[This feature is reserved for members with an admin role]

A blank project is a project that has no pre-existing configuration, as it is not created from a template.

It has:

  • no defined document body

  • no approval workflow or signature order defined

  • no specific configuration (custom summary sheet, destination folder in the repository, reminders, participants, attached files).

A contributor using a blank project will not have access to any pre-configuration made by admin members when creating a new negotiation, storing a previously signed document, or signing a document.

Block / allow the creation of blank projects for contributors

As an Admin user, you can decide whether or not to make the creation of blank projects available to contributors.

Click on your Workspace name in the top-left corner:

Click on "Workspace settings":

Click on "Members":

In the "Rights" area, you can select from the drop-down list the type of users who can use the "Blank project" option.

  • "All users"

  • "Admins only".

  • "Admins and managers only"

💡 Contributors will no longer be able to use the "Blank project" option for a new negotiation, to store a signed contract, or to sign an external document.

Contributors access

Here's what this change means for contributors:

The user creates a new project.

Regardless of which of the 3 creation options they choose, contributors are invited to select a project type (i.e. a template) made available by an administrator or, where applicable, to create a blank project with no configuration.

If the "Blank project" option has not been activated by an administrator member, this type of project will simply not be displayed in the contributor interface above.

Contributors will have to choose among one the available options only.
