If you have models available in multiple languages, you are in the right place.

In this article, we explain how to manage the translation of smart fields.

How to add different language versions of your models? 🇫🇷🇬🇷🇬🇧

Everything is explained in this article: Manage Multiple Languages for a Model.

Adding a first translation for a smart field

To add a new translation to a smart field, first open the field from Dynamic Components.

In the top right, click the "Translate this smart field" button to add a translation:

Select the language in which you will add the translation.

👉 The platform does not translate the field for you; you must provide the translation.

The new translation then appears as a new tab next to the initial translation:

What elements need to be translated?

Once the new translation is added, it's up to you to indicate:

- The field's name in the respective language

- The help text for filling out the field in the respective language

Don't forget to Save (bottom right) once additions/changes are made.

What elements are common to all translations?

The field type cannot be changed; it is common to all translations of the field.

The associated object is editable in a field translation, but it is also common to all translations.

NB: If you change the associated object of the field from one of its translations, it will be edited for all other translations.

Adding new translations to a smart field

At any time, you can add a new language to an existing field.

Simply click on "Add a language" and fill in the name and help text as explained above.

Removing a language

To remove a field translation, click on the "..." next to the language, then click on "Delete translation".

Viewing the field languages in the document

After adding one or more languages to a field, it's time to insert them into the various translations of the established model.

🙌 Need a refresher on how to insert a field? It's right here.

👉 How to add your models in different languages? This article explains it.

When a field with a translation is inserted, the field takes the name of the translation in the model's language. The translation of the language of your interface will be indicated in parentheses.

Example 1: Below, we are on the model in ENGLISH.

The inserted fields have a English translation, which is displayed by default.

Example 2: Below, we are on the model in FRENCH.

The inserted fields have a French translation, which is displayed by default. The English translation, which is the interface language, is also added in parentheses.

In the summary sheet and the form to fill out the contract

Depending on the translation of the model used to create the project, the field names will appear in the same language - if they have an identical translation.

Your collaborators and co-contractors can easily fill out the contract in the document's language and will see the fields in the same language.

In the example below, we used the FRENCH version of the model. The fields have a French translation, so their names appear in French with the English translation in parentheses afterward:

- In the summary sheet

- In the form to fill out the contract.
